Many people say they’re spiritual but not religious. This is because their religious experiences left them wanting. They seek something better.
So they keep the parts they like and ditch the rest. They mix philosophies and world religions to produce a feel-good concoction.
This may be emotionally satisfying, but it fails to produce eternal results.
A spirituality we make up can’t save us. It’s making God into our image—into who we want him to be.
True spiritual formation must be built on something stable, proven, and lasting: the Bible.
Anyone who forms their spirituality from Scripture is on the right path. Anyone who mixes in other belief systems is headed in the wrong direction (Deuteronomy 12:4).
The Bible alone points us to life-saving truth.
