Give Thanks
Focus on What You Have and Not What You Lack
Scripture says to be thankful. We see this most often in the Psalms, such as “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever” (Psalm 107:1).
We give thanks because of God’s goodness and unconditional love. Embracing his immense love, everything else becomes secondary.
Paul writes that we should give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). All means all, which implies in both good times and bad.
Some people look at what they have and celebrate their blessings. Others look at what they don’t have and mourn their shortfall.
We choose which one we focus on.
Regardless, whether much or little, we should give thanks for what we have. More importantly, we give thanks because God loves us.
