As a teen, I tended to push boundaries. I’d stop just short of breaking rules and getting in trouble.
I fear many Christians live life like that. They know the rules—the safety guidelines God gave them—and they push the limits as far as they can. Sometimes they go too far.
But they’re not worried. They rely on God’s mercy and grace to cover their infractions.
Though they receive forgiveness, they still suffer the consequences. This might be physical pain, a broken heart, or a ruined relationship.
God’s rules in the Bible aren’t to take away our fun, they’re to keep us safe and protect us from evil.
So stop asking, “What can I do?” Start asking, “What should I do.”
