Paul writes that we are to take every thought captive. We make it obedient to Jesus (2 Corinthians 10:5).
When it comes to what we think, we should control it, suppress it, and subdue it. We don’t let it control us or dictate what we do. We turn it over to Jesus, to obey him and what he says.
When we do this, our thoughts will never lead us astray.
How can this be?
Our thoughts drive our actions.
We must first think it before we do it. If we never entertain the idea in our mind, we will never do it with our bodies.
The temptation to sin starts in our minds. And with God’s help, that’s where it ends.
Consider This
“The temptation to sin does not come from God but from within. It’s up to us to decide what to do with it. Do we give in to it, or do we resist it?” -Peter DeHaan from James and Jude Bible Study
