I hold my theology loosely. After all, I could be wrong.
Does this suggest a lack of confidence in my understanding of God?
Certainly not!
I've read, studied, and meditated on the Bible throughout my adult life. God wired me to do this, and I've gotten better at it over the years. In addition, the Holy Spirit guides me and provides supernatural insight as I contemplate Scripture.
Does this suggest a lack of conviction?
Certainly not!
Instead, it portrays a God-honoring humility.
After all, if I think I'm right, that implies I think everyone else is wrong. May that never be.
Jesus's church is diverse, and I’m part of it. We all are.
Jesus is what matters, and everything else—including our theology—is secondary.
