We've all met people fixated on their past.
They grieve about mistakes made, or they lament about past glories that no longer are. They live in a world of what was, but it is gone.
Other people focus on their future.
They dream about what they hope for, or they quake in fear over worries that may befall them, but these may not happen.
In both cases, they miss out on what is.
Let us learn from the past but not dwell on it. Let us hope for the future but not live there.
May we live in the present, making the most of each moment. Once it is gone, it cannot be reclaimed.
Celebrate today and strive to make the most of it.
