Paul writes that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, as sent from God. We are bought at a price—through Jesus’s sacrifice for our sins. Therefore, we’re not our own. As a result, we are to honor God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
This means we need to take care of ourselves.
This includes what we put into it, what we expect from it, and how we treat it.
How our body looks, what our body says, and where our body goes is likewise important.
Yet we must take care to not overreach and celebrate our human shell. We ought to not take pride in our appearance.
Instead, we worship God by caring for our bodies, that is, his temple.
