When Jesus taught his disciples to pray, they were to ask for their daily bread, what they needed that day to live.
Over time, I began to envision this as imploring God for the most basics things I needed that day to live.
I needed to reform my meager perspective.
Now I envision Father God in a grand storehouse of provisions, one heaped with every possible thing I could need.
Wearing a royal robe and impressive gold crown, he sports a broad smile. He stretches his arms wide in a grand display of generosity.
It’s all there for us. He’s already prepared what we need for the day. It’s in stock, waiting for us.
All we need to do is ask.
