A passage in Proverbs lists six things—no seven—that God hates. The seventh item God finds detestable is a person who stirs up conflict (Proverbs 6:16-19).
We’ve all seen people do this. They make a comment about someone or something and end with a little dig.
Whether intentional or not, the result is stirring up conflict. They create drama. It accomplishes nothing positive but does cause hurt and damage reputations.
Even worse is when they’re online. Social media platforms thrive on controversy. People who stir up conflict garner attention. They attack others. Their hurtful comments spread far.
We’ll do well to remember this the next time we share something in person or online.
We must ensure we aren’t stirring up conflict. God hates it.
